The COST Program has approved 80 new research networks. Researchers can now join them

Čtvrtek 18. červen 2026, 12:25

Modern art conservation, healthcare, sustainability, artificial intelligence, and other fields. The COST program has announced 80 newly approved research networks that are now open to new participants. This provides researchers and innovators with an excellent opportunity to expand their professional networks abroad and get involved in cutting-edge European research.

COST’s international networks focus on a wide range of scientific topics—from the prevention of psychosis, silent fans, and neuromorphic computing, through vaccines and artificial intelligence, to the preservation of modern art and the well-being of children and parents. You can easily identify all new events in the database by their designation starting with CA25. Since these networks are open by nature, you can participate even if you did not contribute to the preparation of the proposal itself.

List and detailed information on newly approved COST Actions (Open Call 2025)

COST Actions are interdisciplinary research networks that bring together researchers and innovators to conduct a four-year investigation of a selected topic. They are open to all scientific and technological fields, including new and emerging disciplines. They offer an inclusive, pan-European environment for individuals at all career stages, where they can expand their professional networks and advance their careers. Typically, they consist of researchers from academia, small and medium-sized enterprises, public institutions, and other relevant organizations.

The COST program places great emphasis on the multidisciplinary nature of projects and the active involvement of young researchers. A major advantage over other EU-funded projects is its maximum openness— it is possible to join the network at any time during its duration (usually 4 years) from the moment the so-called Memorandum of Understanding is published in the database. Interested parties can apply to join individual Working Groups or even become members of the Management Committee.

Important note regarding funding: Funding from the COST program covers costs primarily for networking activities. These include organizing meetings, workshops, and conferences, short-term researcher exchanges, training, internships, and virtual mobility. The research itself is not funded from these resources. The estimated budget for a single COST action is 150,000 EUR in the first year of the project and an average of 180,000 EUR per year over the following three years.
