The European Research Council Executive Agency (ERCEA) is organizing a second informational webinar focused on the new ERC Plus grant program. The webinar will follow up on the first informational session and provide further details on the upcoming call, which is scheduled to open on June 2, 2026. The event will also include a Q&A session for participants.
The program will be presented by ERC President Maria Leptinová together with Philippe Cupers, Head of the ERC’s Scientific Management Division. Participants will gain an overview of the focus of the ERC Plus program, its objectives, eligibility criteria and the method of evaluating projects. Funding opportunities and the specifics of the new initiative will also be discussed.

A new type of ERC grant ERC Plus Grant, introduced as part of the Choose Europe for Science, is intended for outstanding researchers from Europe and around the world with bold ideas and a vision for transformative research that goes beyond the scope of existing ERC grant schemes. Grants are intended for principal investigators at any stage of their career. Projects can last up to 7 years, and the maximum funding amount is 7 million euros. Each year, only approximately 30 projects across all fields are to be supported.
