Medical Alumni Talks: Life After Medical School of a Forensic Psychiatrist

8. April 2026, 15:30–16:30

An inspirational talk by Dr. Adam Tancred

Join us for a live alumni talk with Dr. Adam Tancred, MD, FRCPC (Class of 2013), a psychiatrist specializing in forensic psychiatry and currently Head of the Division of Forensic Psychiatry in Saskatchewan, Canada.

Following his graduation, Dr. Tancred has worked in both rural and urban settings, combining clinical practice with leadership, teaching, and administrative roles. He currently divides his time between a federal correctional facility for patients with complex mental health needs and the first outpatient forensic psychiatry clinic in his province, which he helped establish. He is also an active member of professional organizations, including the Saskatchewan Psychiatric Association and the Forensic Directors Group of Canada.

During the talk, he will share insights into life after medical school, offer practical advice on how to succeed in residency and internship applications, and introduce the field of forensic psychiatry.
