Elijah Wald, acclaimed U.S. music journalist and historian, will talk about Jelly Roll Morton, one of the founding fathers of jazz and blues in 1920s New Orleans and the Gulf Coast. Wald invites us on a journey to a fascinating period when a new generation of Black musicians, dancers, and audiences were creating lives their parents could not have imagined, and art transformed popular culture around the world. With live music by the author himself! In English.
