Workshop
One of the most important features of academic life is participation in conferences, symposiums, or various other scholarly conventions. However, graduate or postgraduate students often face difficulties or are worried wheter they can master these events. Where to find information about conferences, how to apply to them, and how to effectively utilise the conferences?
This workshop aims to answer these and other questions regarding academic conventions. In the first part we will look at the types and modes of participation in these events. Then, various tools for finding the calls for papers will be presented. In the second, more practical part, we will address the proposal and its parts (title, abstract, bio). The participants will have a chance to present and get feedback on their proposals. Finally, we will touch upon techniques of effecting conferencing and share our experience.
This seminar is suitable primarily for the PhD students in humanities and social sciences.
