On 1 October, the International Visegrad Fund opened the application window for the autumn round of the V4 Gen Mini Grants programme. The programme funds short-term cross-border exchanges and joint activities for young people aged between 12 and 30 from the V4 countries and Ukraine. Project proposals must be registered by 1 November, and the final application can be submitted by 15 November 2026.
The aim of the programme is to support physical cross-border mobility, enabling young people to forge links and collaborate with their peers from neighbouring countries. Funding is available for a wide range of joint activities, such as exchange programmes, practical workshops, sporting and cultural events, or short-term placements. In addition to young participants, accompanying adults, such as teachers or coaches, may also take part in the projects.
Call for proposals conditions:
- The project must involve the mobility of young people from at least two of the following countries: the Czech Republic, Hungary, Poland, Slovakia and Ukraine. Partners from Austria and Germany may also take part.
- The applicant must be registered in one of the V4 countries or in Ukraine.
- Distance from the border or a shared border is not a determining factor; therefore, cooperation between partners from Ostrava and Miskolc, for example, is possible.
- Each project must include at least one joint activity involving all partners and at least one public presentation for the local community, supplemented by other forms of disseminating the outputs (e.g. posters, videos or social media posts). Both activities may be combined.
- The programme is intended for short-term visits and exchanges lasting no more than 7 days. The total duration of the project may not exceed 7 months.
The call for proposals does not have fixed thematic categories. The six thematic areas listed serve as areas of interest and a source of inspiration. However, every project should adhere to the following principles: Inclusiveness; Teaching and learning; Cross-border cooperation and good neighbourliness.
Who can apply for funding?
-
Schools of all types: State, private and church schools – from primary and secondary schools right through to universities
-
Extracurricular organisations: Scout groups, sports clubs, voluntary fire brigades
-
Artistic and leisure organisations: Primary art schools (ZUŠ), children’s and youth centres (DDM)
-
Non-profit organisations: Any associations dedicated to the development of young people
The maximum amount of funding per project is 10,000 €. The budget is set as a lump sum based on the number of person-days, up to 50 € per participant or accompanying person per day. If more than two V4 countries are involved in the project, the rate is 60 € per person per day. The funds may be used to cover any costs directly related to the project, such as travel, accommodation, admission fees or fees. The fund also welcomes co-funding from other sources.
