The Palacký University Project Service presents two new publications that guide Palacký University’s research and administrative staff through the entire project lifecycle within the Horizon Europe programme. The manuals provide guidance on the basic administrative, financial and procedural steps, from the initial search for a call for proposals through to project management and Palacký University’s internal procedures. Both guides are freely available in electronic form on the UP Research Office website.
The Horizon Europe programme offers researchers and research teams the opportunity to join international consortia and secure funding for large-scale, yet prestigious, individual projects. However, this also involves a number of requirements, both when preparing the project application and during the implementation phase itself. Both guides are designed to highlight selected internal UP procedures and provide basic methodological support.
Manual 1 – Manual for preparing a project application under the Horizon Europe programme
The first part focuses on the period prior to submitting a project. It explains the structure of the programme and its three pillars, shows where and how to search for suitable calls, and guides you through the call documentation, including eligibility and evaluation criteria. It also describes how to work within the project proposal submission system, the methods of project funding, and cross-cutting areas such as gender and ethical principles, open science and intellectual property.
Manual 2 – Manual for implementing projects under the Horizon Europe programme
The second part picks up at the point when a project has been selected for funding. It describes the preparation and signing of the grant agreement, including internal approval at UP, the conclusion of the consortium agreement, the day-to-day management of the project and interim reporting. It covers in detail the reporting of eligible costs by individual categories, the specifics of project funding, and final reporting, including the certification of financial statements and the second-level audit.
