Horizon Europe: Open Calls for Cluster 2, Cluster 6, and EU Missions

New grant calls are currently open under the Horizon Europe program, aimed at supporting international research and innovation projects in the fields of social sciences, culture, democracy, migration, the environment, the bioeconomy, agriculture, climate adaptation, and soil health. Open calls under Horizon Europe Cluster 2 (Culture, Creativity and Inclusive Society), Cluster 6 (Food, Bioeconomy, Natural Resources, Agriculture and Environment), and EU Missions offer opportunities to join large-scale international consortia funded by the European Commission.

Horizon Europe CL2: Culture, Creativity and Inclusive Society

Within Cluster 2  , calls are open to support international projects in the areas of culture, democracy, social inclusion, migration, demographic change, and European cultural heritage. The program includes topics such as Research and Innovation Action (RIA), Innovation Action (IA), and Coordination and Support Action (CSA). The deadline is September 23, 2026.

Horizon Europe CL6: Food, Bioeconomy, Natural Resources, Agriculture and Environment

Cluster 6 calls focus on supporting projects in the areas of food systems, the bioeconomy, the protection of natural resources, agriculture, forestry, biodiversity, and the environment. The program supports interdisciplinary projects addressing climate change, the need for sustainable management, and the strengthening of Europe’s environmental resilience. The program includes topics such as Research and Innovation Actions (RIA), Innovation Actions (IA), and Coordination and Support Action (CSA). The deadline is September 17, 2026.

EU Climate Mission: Climate Adaptation and Resilience (Adaptation to Climate Change)

As part of the EU Missions under the Horizon Europe program, calls are also open that focus on climate adaptation and strengthening the resilience of regions, cities, and communities to the impacts of climate change. The program includes topics such as Research and Innovation Action (RIA), Innovation Action (IA), and Coordination and Support Action (CSA). The deadline is September 23, September 2026.

EU Mission Soil: A Soil Deal for Europe

The EU Mission “A Soil Deal for Europe” supports projects focused on soil protection, soil health monitoring, sustainable management, and innovations that promote the long-term resilience of soil ecosystems.& nbsp;The program includes topics such as Research and Innovation Action (RIA), Innovation Action (IA), and Coordination and Support Action (CSA). The deadline is September 23, 2026.

 

The call focuses on the following topics:

  • CSA - Monitoring soil health in practice: equipping stakeholders to sample, analyse, and interpret soil health indicators -  HORIZON-MISS-2026-05-SOIL-01
  • RIA - Antimicrobial resistance and antibiotic biosynthesis in soils: developing key understanding and counteractive strategies using a One-Health approach -& nbsp;HORIZON-MISS-2026-05-SOIL-02
  • CSA - Enabling user-centered and open innovation initiatives to enhance soil health in Ukraine -  HORIZON -MISS-2026-05-SOIL-03
  • IA - Leveraging long-term field experiments and other datasets to develop AI-ready decision support systems for sustainable soil management - HORIZON-MISS-2026-05-SOIL-04
