CET Call 2026 Partnership: International Call for Proposals in the Field of Clean Energy

On Tuesday, May 26, the European Clean Energy Transition Partnership (CETPartnership) officially launched its fifth international call, Joint Call 2026, focused on research in the field of energy transition (clean energy). Its goal is to contribute to the EU’s ambition to become the first climate-neutral continent by 2050. The deadline for submitting short project proposals is October 8, 2026.

 

Czech applicants can participate in the following four thematic configurations and the corresponding seven “Call Modules” (call topics):

TRI 1 – Net-zero emissions energy systems

  • CM2026-01 Integrated energy system resilience in a changing environment
  • CM2026-02 Energy system flexibility in a high renewable energy sources (RES) scenario: energy generation, storage and system integration

 TRI 3 – Enabling Climate Neutrality with Storage Technologies, Renewable Fuels and CCU/CCS

  • CM2026-04 Industrial carbon management
  • CM2026-05 Hydrogen and renewable fuels
  • CM2026-06 Stationary battery technologies and systems for climate-neutral industry and built environment

 TRI 5 – Integrated Regional Energy Systems

  • CM2026-08 Integrated regional energy systems

 TRI 7 – Integration in the Built Environment

  • CM2026-10 Clean energy integration in the built environment

 

Project proposals may be submitted by international consortia consisting of at least three partners from three participating countries (of which at least two must be EU member states or countries associated with Horizon Europe). The typical size of a consortium is 5 to 10 partners, with a project duration of 12 to 36 months and an estimated budget of 0.5 to 5 million euros per project.

 

The call follows common international rules, and each topic (Call Module) has its own evaluation and ranking. List of countries and funding agencies participating in the call.

 

Czech applicants must also meet the national conditions of the Technology Agency of the Czech Republic (TA ČR). Funding will be provided through the TA ČR Sigma program (Sub-objective 4 – International Cooperation) and is intended exclusively for applied research projects. The maximum funding intensity for the Czech part of the project is 80%.
