Palacký University Olomouc joins in expressing solidarity with the people of Ukraine, with Ukrainian universities, and their students and employees.
Students
(Bachelor’s, Master’s, and doctoral programmes)
We offer two basic options for Ukrainian university students:
Exchange programmes
- Immediate availability
- You will have exchange student status, and the courses which are successfully completed can be later accepted for credit at your home university
- Available courses can be found at www.upol.cz/en/students/exchange-students/courses
- Eligibility for financial support, housing, and also Czech language lessons
In person attendance at programmes taught in English – fees involved
- For the 2022/2023 academic year you can choose to pay for courses at Palacký University Olomouc in a language other than Czech. (As a prerequisite, you will first have to pass entrance exams.)

In person attendance at programmes taught in Czech – no fees
- For the 2022/2023 academic year, you can choose the daily study in-person study programme taught in Czech at Palacký University without fees. (As a prerequisite, you will first have to pass entrance exams.)
- For the current list of courses and application requirements, check the pages at studium.upol.cz regularly.
- Within the study programme, you are eligible for Czech language lessons.
Current programme of studies without fees
Students from Ukraine are exempt from paying fees for entrance exams in the following courses offered.
Faculty of Science
- Applications are being accepted to the second round of the regular entrance exams until 11 July.
- On offer are Bachelor’s and continuing Master’s study programmes conducted in Czech – the offer can be found on the Faculty of Science webpages and in the catalogue of currently open study programmes.
- For example, the study programmes Environmental Geology and Environmental Risk and Climate Change at the Faculty of Science. Details are available in this brochure.
- After completing the electronic application, send an e-mail to jiri.mazal@upol.cz regarding the fee waiver for entrance exams.
Faculty of Arts
- Special entrance exams for refugees from Ukraine, for whom temporary asylum has been granted in conjunction with the armed conflict on Ukrainian territory.
- From 15 May to 30 June 2022.
- Studies in selected programmes and the application process are without fees; the detailed list of study programmes is presented by the faculty on its webpages.
According to Czech legislation, it is not possible to transfer from one university to another; nonetheless some credits can be transferred from successfully completed courses in one’s previous studies.
