Details on the application for recognition of foreign higher education and qualifications (nostrification)

In the case of previous study abroad, a decision on the recognition of foreign higher education or qualifications, called nostrification, may be required of a candidate for study or employment in the Czech Republic.

A suitable public university that can decide on the recognition of foreign higher education can be selected from a list of accredited study programmes. The chosen programme at the Czech school must be of the same or similar focus as the study programme studied abroad. A clear overview is available here. If you do not find a study programme close to your current field of study in the list, you should contact the Ministry of Education, Youth and Sports of the Czech Republic directly (e-mail: nostrifikace@msmt.cz).

At Palacký University in Olomouc, the nostrification fee is CZK 3,000. The UP will send the invitation to pay the fee to the applicant after receiving his/her application for recognition of foreign higher education and after assessing whether it is competent to decide on the application. The processing of the application usually takes 30 days, in more complex cases 60 days. The time limit is calculated from the date of receipt of all documents and payment of the fee.

Details of the application for recognition of a foreign higher education degree or qualification at Palacký University can be found on this page. More detailed information can also be found on the Ministry's website.
