News from UP | Application for the Doctoral Scholarship for the 2026/2027 Academic Year | As Soon As PossibleIf you meet the eligibility requirements for a doctoral scholarship, do not forget to submit your application as soon as possible. A new application must be submitted for each academic year. - Students who commenced their doctoral studies on or after 1 September 2025 must submit their application electronically via STAG. Applications can be submitted in STAG from 1 September 2026, or once enrolment has been completed.
Path to the application: STAG – My Study – My Data – Doctoral grant. Instructions are available via the Doctoral Space website (Doctoral Scholarship and Doctoral Income) after signing in (using the same credentials as for the UP Portal). - Students who commenced their doctoral studies before 1 September 2025 should follow the same procedure as in the previous academic year (i.e. not via STAG). Please follow the instructions provided by your faculty. Detailed information on the application process and deadlines can be found primarily on your faculty's doctoral studies webpages or obtained from the doctoral studies administrators. (Some faculties, such as the Faculty of Health Sciences, have already collected paper applications from these students.)
As doctoral income may consist of a combination of a doctoral scholarship and salary, the scholarship amount is paid in arrears in a similar way to salary payments, for example, the scholarship for September is paid in October. To ensure smooth processing, please submit your application as soon as possible, ideally by 18 September 2026.
