What kind of PhD community would you like to see at Palacký University? Are there opportunities for collaboration, training, or informal networking that you feel are currently missing? And would you be interested in helping to shape them? These are the questions at the heart of a new survey open to all PhD students at Palacký University.
The aim is to better understand the needs, expectations, and interests of PhD students across faculties and study programmes, and to use this information to develop activities and support services at the university-wide level.
„The survey focuses on opportunities for connecting PhD students, meeting in a safe and welcoming environment, sharing experiences, mutual support, educational activities, and maintaining motivation throughout doctoral study. It is an opportunity to tell us which events, services, and forms of support you would find most beneficial,“ the Vice-Rector for Doctoral Studies and Junior Science Miroslav Dopita explains.
Feedback obtained from the survey will help the university tailor its support under the Doctoral SPace brand more effectively. Based on the interests and needs identified through the survey, the Rector’s Office will be better equipped to provide appropriate facilities and organisational support, as well as to create opportunities for training, networking, community events, expert talks, discussion sessions, and other activities that PhD students would like to see.
„We would also be delighted if you chose to become actively involved in future initiatives rather than simply completing the survey. A vibrant and supportive PhD community is built by people who are willing to share their experiences, inspire others, and help create an environment in which PhD students can connect, support one another, and develop both personally and professionally,“ adds Vice-Rector Dopita.
