How to apply for a PhD
First steps
Choose a doctoral study programme that matches your research interests and contact the programme guarantor. They may help you find a suitable supervisor. Once you have a supervisor, prepare and consult a brief dissertation proposal, including your research aim, questions, methodology, and expected focus.
Admission procedure
Check the application deadline, required documents, language requirements, and the form of the admission procedure. Submit the online application, pay the application fee, and upload or send all required documents, such as your diploma, transcript, CV, motivation letter, dissertation proposal, proof of language proficiency, recommendation letters, or list of publications.
After submitting your application, wait for the university to inform you of the admission procedure date. The entrance assessment usually includes an interview where you present your research interests and dissertation proposal. The university will then inform you of the final decision.
