In addition to funding international mobility opportunities, Erasmus+ also offers a range of complementary online learning activities. The programme further promotes cooperation and partnership between universities, research institutions, and other organisations across Europe and beyond.

The Aurora European University Alliance is built on strong and long-standing partnerships between its member institutions. It offers students a variety of international opportunities, including internships with selected host organisations and short-term study stays at partner universities. In addition to internships, doctoral candidates can take part in summer and winter schools organised across the Aurora network and may benefit from having their dissertation reviewed by academic experts from partner Aurora universities. As a member of Aurora, Palacký University also enables its students to participate in selected workshops, seminars, and training courses offered by partner institutions and made available across the alliance. PhD students interested in undertaking a practical internship in countries that are not part of the Erasmus+ Programme may apply for funding through the UP Scholarship Programme. More information here.

The Fulbright Programme offers scholarships supporting educational exchange between the Czech Republic and the United States. Fulbright grants enable academics and researchers to undertake not only research stays but also teaching placements in the United States. Applications for Fulbright funding are submitted directly to the Fulbright Commission. The programme's excellent reputation is demonstrated by the large number of outstanding academics and researchers who have been awarded Fulbright grants over the years.

The Merrill Programme offers Palacký University students the opportunity to spend either a semester or an academic year studying at a partner university in the United States. The programme is supported by partner institutions in the USA and is typically co-funded through additional sources, such as Erasmus+, UP, and the student's own financial contribution. Opportunities for students of the UP Faculty of Medicine and Dentistry and the Faculty of Law are more limited due to the range of programmes offered by participating US institutions and the higher costs associated with medical and legal studies. Participation in the programme does not lead to the award of an academic degree.

The Merrill Programme at Palacký University is overseen by the Rector of Palacký University. Administrative support is provided by the International Relations Office, and the selection committee is appointed by the Rector.

The DZS is an organisation established by the Ministry of Education, Youth and Sports of the Czech Republic. It serves as the national agency responsible for supporting international cooperation in education and research. Its main objectives are to facilitate international collaboration in education and to encourage the widest possible participation of individuals and institutions in international activities. DZS provides information, guidance, and analytical support to a broad range of stakeholders across all sectors of education.

In the Czech Republic, DZS administers major European programmes such as Erasmus+ and the European Solidarity Corps, as well as a number of other mobility and scholarship schemes, including AIA, AKTION Czech Republic–Austria, the Barrande Fellowship Programme, CEEPUS, EEA and Norway Grants, and many others.

The AIA provides information on scholarship opportunities offered by the Czech Ministry of Education, Youth and Sports under international agreements. These opportunities are available to students and academic staff of public higher education institutions, as well as to secondary school students participating in exchange programmes in France and Germany. AIA also provides information on teaching observation visits, training placements, and seminars for teachers of German and French, as well as a wide range of other study opportunities abroad. Each year, AIA publishes a comprehensive catalogue of scholarship opportunities (CZ), including detailed information on the various types of study and research stays available.

The AKTION Programme provides scholarships for study and research stays in Austria to support the preparation of Master's theses, doctoral dissertations and habilitation theses. It also offers scholarships for participation in summer German and Czech language courses organised together with Austrian students (Summer Colleges), as well as scholarships for academic staff undertaking research or teaching stays.

The Barrande Fellowship Programme provides support for short-term research stays, including opportunities for doctoral candidates enrolled in joint supervision arrangements (cotutelle), across all academic disciplines. The programme extends the existing research mobility scheme for Czech PhD students undertaking research stays in France and, under the same conditions, also offers French students the opportunity to study in the Czech Republic. Its primary aim is to strengthen collaboration between Czech and French universities and research institutions, promote the exchange of good practice, and foster long-term academic and research cooperation between both countries.

CEEPUS (Central European Exchange Program for University Studies) is a regional academic exchange programme that supports cooperation among universities in Central and South-Eastern Europe through established university networks. The programme currently involves Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Croatia, the Czech Republic, Hungary, Moldova, Montenegro, North Macedonia, Austria, Poland, Romania, Serbia, Slovakia and Slovenia. Universities in Pristina, Prizren and Peja in Kosovo also participate in programme activities. CEEPUS is open to undergraduate students who have completed at least two semesters of study, postgraduate students, and academic staff. Scholarships may be awarded within university networks or individually (as a so-called freemover). Priority is primarily given to activities carried out within university networks.
