On 2 September 2026, the Academia Europeae Budapest Knowledge Hub is organising a webinar on supporting the participation of widening-in countries in European Research Council (ERC) calls. The webinar will be opened by ERC President Prof. Maria Leptin, who will present the white paper produced by the ERC Working Group on Widening Participation. This will be followed by two examples of good practice from widening participation countries: Prof. Zdeněk Strakoš, coordinator of the Expert Group on Support for Applicants in ERC Calls, will present the national support system in the Czech Republic, whilst Prof. András Stipsicz, a member of the ERC Scientific Council, will share Hungary’s experience.
