TA ČR - MET-12 Update: New rules for research and development results

On Thursday, November 13, 2025, the Presidium of the Technology Agency of the Czech Republic (TA CR) approved an update to document MET-12 Specification of Provider Requirements for R&D Results (version 3). The methodology is effective as of November 24, 2025.

This update responds to the transition from Methodology 2017+ to the new Methodology 25+, which was approved by the Czech government in June 2025.

Key changes in MET-12:

  • New types of results: New types of results (Hpub and T) have been added to the document.
  • Extended result cards: 
    • Extensive modifications have been made to the result cards, particularly for the types Hleg, Hneleg, Hkonc, S, and O – candidate for result (Hleg, Hneleg, Hkonc).
  • Emphasis on the use of results: Points 6) Possible ways of using the result and 7) Possible ways of proving that the result is being used have been added to the cards for all types of results.
  • The possibility of achieving results under certain conditions even after the end of the project.
  • New O-type results
    • O-type results – candidate results can now also be used in public tenders.
    • New O-type results defined by TA ČR have been defined and added, namely:
      • Patent application
      • Feasibility study
      • Company establishment
      • Ensuring the sustainability and development of the company
