Palacký University in Olomouc held the final conference of the TAČR RegAdapt project at the Ministry of the Environment of the Czech Republic, titled Mapping the Regional Distribution of the Czech Republic in Terms of the Urgency of Implementing Climate Change Adaptation Measures. The conference took place in a hybrid format—both in-person and online. The event was attended by representatives of Palacký University in Olomouc, all partner organizations, the Ministry of the Environment, regional authorities, and other specialized institutions dealing with the issue of landscape adaptation to climate change.

RegAdapt

The TAČR RegAdapt project, implemented between April 2024 and March 2026, focused on creating a regional typology of the Czech Republic in terms of landscape vulnerability and the urgency of adaptation measures. The result is a comprehensive system comprising specialized map outputs and a database that enable more effective decision-making in the planning and implementation of adaptation measures. The principal investigator of the project was Associate Professor Hana Marešová. The head of the expert team was Professor Vilém Pechanec. The project was carried out by Palacký University in Olomouc in cooperation with partners ASITIS s.r.o., World from Space s.r.o., and the Global Change Research Institute of the Czech Academy of Sciences, v. v. i.

The main outputs of the project were presented during the conference, including methodological approaches, a mapping application, and the project’s data infrastructure. The program also included an expert discussion focused on the practical application of the results in the areas of public administration and strategic planning.

The final conference confirmed the importance of interdisciplinary cooperation and the integration of the academic sphere, public administration, and practical application in addressing current challenges related to climate change.
