M-ERA.NET Call 2026: International call for material research and innovation is open

The international ERA-NET Cofund M-ERA.NET Call 2026, which focuses on supporting projects in the field of materials research and innovation, is open from March 4, 2026.  Interested parties can submit short project proposals (pre-proposals) until May 12, 2026, 12:00 p.m. CET. An informational webinar on the current call will take place on March 18.

 

The Technology Agency of the Czech Republic (TA CR) will support Czech applicants, which may be companies and research organizations. The national conditions for Czech applicants are based on the SIGMA program (Sub-objective 4 – International Cooperation). The total amount of TA CR support for Czech applicants in this call is €1,500,000, of which a maximum of €350,000 is available per project. The maximum allowable aid intensity for the Czech side of the project is 80% of the total eligible project costs.

1. Materials for energy storage and distribution systems
2. Materials for energy conversion
3. Innovative surfaces, coatings and interfaces
4. Innovative functional materials with defined architectures
5. Materials addressing environmental challenges
6. Next generation materials for electronics

 

Who can apply

Projects may be submitted by international consortia consisting of at least three eligible partners from at least three participating countries (of which at least two are EU Member States or associated countries). Projects must be funded by at least three different participating providers. The project consortium may be supplemented by partners from countries that are not part of the consortium of providers, provided that they secure their own funding.

The call is governed by international rules common to applicants from all participating countries. In addition to the international call, applicants must also meet the national conditions set by the relevant national provider. 

 

Project proposals can be submitted electronically by May 12, 2026 (12:00 noon) via the M-ERA.NET proposal submission tool. (Link to the tool will be available soon)

Proposals must be submitted by project coordinators only. At the same time, Czech participants must submit the mandatory national annexes to TA CR by the deadline.
