The Czech Science Foundation (GA ČR) , in collaboration with the Israel Science Foundation (ISF), has launched a call for project proposals based on the Lead Agency evaluation principle, with an anticipated start date in 2028. In this call, GA ČR acts as a partner organisation – projects are evaluated by the ISF, and GA ČR adopts the evaluation results. The Czech part of the project proposal may be submitted by 18 November 2026.

Submission of proposals on behalf of UP
Please send project proposals, including the relevant faculty approval, by email to ludmila.hrabakova@upol.cz no later than 18 November 2026 (12:00). In view of the fact that 17 November 2026 is a public holiday, we would ask our colleagues from R&D to submit the supporting documents in good time so that they can be sent via the data box by the deadline.
A statutory declaration on behalf of Palacký University in Olomouc will be provided.
In the GRIS project submission application, the project must be created under the call ‘Lead Agency – Partner Organisation – 2028 – Israel (ISF)’.
The joint international team must ensure that the project proposal is submitted within the relevant deadlines to both agencies – by the Israeli proposer to the ISF and by the Czech proposer to the GA ČR. If the two grant applications are not matched, the project proposal will be excluded from the evaluation.
Important deadlines and conditions on the Israeli side:

the Israeli proposer must pre-register in the ISF application by 28 October 2026 at the latest; this requirement does not apply to the Czech part of the project,

All Israeli applicants must have an ORCID,

A maximum of four applicants may be listed in the project for the Israeli part.
Concurrent project proposals
We recommend paying particular attention to the rules for Concurrent project proposals. Projects submitted under this call are not counted towards the maximum number of project proposals with an expected start date in 2027; however, they will be counted towards the limit for the call with an expected start date in 2028.
It is therefore highly likely that, across all LA calls for projects due to start in 2028, it will only be possible to submit one project proposal, either as the lead applicant or as a co-applicant. Specific limits and any exceptions will be set out in the Rules for International Grant Projects assessed on the Lead Agency principle (LA grants) due to start in 2028, which will be published in early 2027.
In the event of success in multiple public competitions/calls that permit the submission of concurrent proposals, only one of these projects may be carried out.

The Czech part of the project proposal may be submitted no later than 18.& nbsp;11 November 2026, i.e. within 8 days of the official deadline set by the ISF for Israeli applicants on 10 November 2026.
