The European Commission has announced new calls in the framework of the Marie Skłodowska-Curie Actions (MSCA) with a total budget of over €1.25 billion. The funding will support the development of research talent, international collaboration and the linking of science and society, with a particular focus on starting researchers and displaced Ukrainian scientists. A new pilot programme, Choose Europe for Science, is also being introduced to strengthen Europe's position as an attractive destination for researchers through excellent working conditions and long-term career prospects.

The MSCA is also allocating €10 million to continue the MSCA4Ukraine programme to support displaced Ukrainian researchers.

Choose Europe for Science Pilot Programme
The European Commission is also launching a Choose Europe for Science pilot initiative with a €22.5 million budget for 2025. The programme will support longer-term postdoctoral positions outside the framework of project funding.Funding will be provided for up to 36 months with a subsequent two-year phase paid for by the host institution, thereby contributing to stabilising research careers and aligning with institutional strategies.
