Erasmus+: Info Day on European Degree Exploratory Action and Higher Education Forward-Looking Projects

Two new calls for proposals have been launched under the Erasmus+ program to support innovation in higher education. The calls are part of Key Action 2, which focuses on cooperative partnerships and small-scale partnerships. An information day on both calls, "European Degree Pathway Projects and Leadership Development Programme for Higher Education Institutions' Leaders" and "European Degree Exploratory Action," will take place on January 13, 2026.

 

Initiative Partnerships for Innovation: Forward-looking projects – higher education (ERASMUS-EDU-2025-PI-FORWARD-HE)

  • With a budget of €8 million, it aims to support European study program and leadership program projects with a view to establishing a European Leadership Academy.
  • Through approximately 14 projects, it will support public and private organizations active in the field of education and training vocational training in developing innovative approaches that will pave the way for a common European degree, particularly in key sectors such as engineering.
  • The European Leadership Academy will equip university leaders with the skills to help them tackle the complexity of today's societal challenges, such as digital challenges and the green transition.

Who can apply?

The call is open to higher education institutions, public and private organizations active in the field of education and training, and associations ensuring quality and accreditation.

 

Initiative Partnerships for Excellence – European Universities: Exploratory Action on European Degrees (ERASMUS-EDU-2025-PE-EUED)

  • With a budget of €14 million, it aims to support the introduction of a common European degree in higher education institutions across Europe. 
  • It will support universities in their efforts to adapt existing joint programs or design new ones in line with the criteria for the common label.
  • In addition, the initiative will support exploratory projects to assess the feasibility and benefits of a European engineering degree.

The call is open to universities across Europe.

The Project Service registers ERASMUS+ Key Action 2 projects, Partnerships for Cooperation (KA2), and ensures the signing of related documents. Within ERASMUS+ KA2, organizations and institutions can establish international partnerships, implement international projects, and thus create innovative outputs. Projects can be submitted through the Centre for International Cooperation in Education (CICE) or directly to the European Commission's executive agency (EACEA) via the Funding & tender opportunities portal.
