The latest call for proposals opens up new opportunities for students, educators, youth workers, and organizations across Europe and beyond. In 2026, Erasmus+ will introduce a new action to support more partnerships and mobility in the school sector. With a budget of around €5.2 billion for 2026, Erasmus+ continues to support cross-border mobility and cooperation that help people develop the skills they need for their future, from basic and digital skills to green, civic, and social skills.
The European Commission has set four cross-cutting priorities for the current program period, which projects should focus on and which also influence the application approval process. These are: inclusion and diversity, environmental sustainability, digitalization, and participation.
Who can apply—and how?
The following organizations can apply for financial support from the Erasmus+ program:
- organizations active in the fields of education, training, youth, or sport, including schools, universities, vocational education and training providers, non-governmental organizations, and youth groups
- Individuals, such as students, teachers or young people, cannot apply directly, but can participate through organizations that receive grants from the Erasmus+ program
How:
- In most cases, organizations submit their application to the national agency in one of the Erasmus+ program countries (known as EU Member States or Erasmus+ associated countries).
- Some centralized actions, such as Jean Monnet partnerships or large-scale cooperation projects, are managed by the European Education and Culture Executive Agency (EACEA). In these cases, applications are submitted to the EACEA.
Project funding can be requested in two main areas:
- Individual mobility (KA1 - Key Action 1): educational trips abroad for pupils, students, apprentices, trainees, young people, employees, various projects at national level, and more
- Partnerships for cooperation (KA2 - Key Action 2): international projects with partners from abroad
The Project Service registers ERASMUS+ Key Action 2 projects, Partnerships for Cooperation (KA2), and ensures the signing of related documents. Within the framework of ERASMUS+ KA2, organizations and institutions can establish foreign partnerships, implement international projects, and thus create innovative outputs. Projects can be submitted through the Center for International Cooperation in Education (CICE) or directly to the European Commission's executive body (EACEA) via the Funding & tender opportunities portal.
