On Friday, 12 June, the sun finally came out, and that meant only one thing – strawberry picking. A group of international students and university staff set off to a strawberry filed in nearby Nedvězí.
After arriving and making their way to the filed, everyone picked up a basket and headed out among the strawberry rows, where they received instructions on how self-picking works. After that, everyone happily started picking strawberries. Of course, many could not resist tasting some of what they had collected.
„I have never had better strawberries!“ – international student
This whole event was accompanied by a pleasant and friendly atmosphere, complemented by summer weather. For many participants, it was their first strawberry-picking experience, and the fact that they could share it with others made it truly memorable.
Strawberry pickers had the opportunity to change their environment and explore the surroundings of Olomouc. Bent over the small red treasures, they could take a break from their studies and slow down for a moment. Of course, strawberry picking was not only about the harvest itself, but also about spending time together, discovering a slightly different side of Olomouc than the one they are used to, and, above all, building a friendly international community.
