Dear students,

the time of the Christmas holidays is approaching, which is an opportunity for everyone to slow down for a while, regain strength and spend precious moments with those who matter to us. I wish you success in filling this time with peace, joy and mutual understanding. The end of the old year and the beginning of the new one is a demanding period for all of us, especially for students and teachers who are facing the examination period. That is why there is hope that right now you will find space to rest, replenish your energy and manage all the challenges that lie ahead of you.

At the same time, let us not forget that not everyone here, nor in other parts of the world, has the opportunity to experience the holidays in safety and comfort. Let us therefore be attentive and keep in mind those who have to face all kinds of difficulties, whether due to war conflicts, poverty or other hardships. If it is within our power and possibilities, let us show solidarity with them and offer help where it is needed. For the new year, the wish is above all for you to enjoy good health, as well as much success and joy in each and every day.

Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year
Michael Kohajda, Rector of UP

We are pleased to join in with this wish and also attach the university New Year card, which you can download from the website in various versions, including in English.
