In connection with the Round Table on GA ČR projects, we are sharing a short text on the topic of "What to watch out for when preparing GA ČR projects." The text discusses the most common mistakes in project names and which shortcomings lead to the rejection of a project proposal. The most common mistakes in project implementation are also mentioned.
GA ČR projects - What to watch out for?
The most common mistakes when preparing a project:
- The proposal contains incorrect information about the applicant (confusion between the applicant and the primary workplace).
- One person has submitted more project proposals than is permitted.
- The project proposal or part of it is not completed in English.
- Part E does not contain all projects, including those submitted/funded by GA ČR.
- The maximum number of pages (unauthorized attachments) has been exceeded in Part C1 or D1.
- The national part of the proposal has not been prepared in accordance with the foreign part of the project.
- Copies of documents proving completion of doctoral studies were not provided.
- The project proposal was not submitted from the applicant's data box – Palacký University Olomouc – but, for example, via the proposer's personal data box.
Most common mistakes in project implementation:
- Business trips without active participation
- Travel expenses for employees who are not members of the research team
- Courses and training
- Promotional items
- Late transfer of part of the grant to co-recipients
- Exceeding the grant limit for personnel costs and changes in the team
- Concurrent employment and OON are not permitted
- The sum of all positions on GA ČR projects must not exceed 1.0 (100%)
- Unused funds from indirect costs cannot be carried over to subsequent years (neither within the FÚUP nor within unused earmarked funds).
- Changes in the researcher's workload are calculated separately and are not included in the calculation of the 20% change in the team of expert collaborators, for which no application is required.
- Project results are assessed according to the currently valid Definition of Types of Results (Annex 7 of the tender documentation).
- Failure to mention the dedication of the GA CR or the affiliation of the recipient in the publication.
- Lack of joint publications with a foreign partner.
