The transdisciplinary conference will explore the contemporary significance of the mystery of the Trinity in thought, science, and culture
The Cyril and Methodius Faculty of Theology at Palacký University Olomouc invites to the major international transdisciplinary conference TRIERTIUM: A Trinitarian Synthesis of Wisdom, to be held from 3 to 5 December 2025. The conference will explore the contemporary significance of the mystery of the Trinity in thought, science, and culture, bringing together leading figures from Christian theology, philosophy, politics, science, and the arts.
The title TRIERTIUM is inspired by Comenius’ vision of the unity of sciences and the arts through trinitarian thought. The main goal of the conference is to connect philosophical and theological reflection on the Trinity with transdisciplinary efforts toward a comprehensive synthesis of scientific knowledge and human experience. Could thinking inspired by the mystery of the Trinity become the spiritual foundation for unity, freedom, and creativity in contemporary society?
The conference will open on Wednesday, 3 December 2025 at 1:00 p.m. in the main hall (AULA) of the Faculty at Univerzitní 22, Olomouc, with an inaugural lecture by the renowned British philosopher and theologian John Milbank. The first day will culminate in a public evening lecture by Piero Coda at 7:00 p.m. in the Archbishop’s Palace, attended by His Excellency Josef Nuzík, Archbishop of Olomouc. The following days (4–5 December) will feature further plenary sessions, thematic panels, shared discussions, and artistic interventions by figures such as Antoine Dossin, Václav Kadrnka, Karel Martínek, and Dalimil Ševčík.
