Inspiring career stories of two graduates of Faculty of Medicine and Dentistry
Our latest Alumni Talks session brings forward the inspiring career stories of two graduates who are now building meaningful medical careers within the UK’s National Health Service (NHS).
MUDr. Szetho Wei Zian (Class of 2014)
Now a Consultant GP in London, Dr. Szetho is also the co-founder of Plabable, a leading educational platform supporting candidates preparing for the PLAB and MLA exams. He has previous clinical experience at Guy’s and St Thomas’ NHS Foundation Trust and in Kilkenny, Ireland. Dr. Szetho has also become highly involved in medical education, particularly in teaching NICE guidelines.
In his talk, he will reflect on the transition “From Med School to NHS,” sharing what his studies prepared him for, what required adjustment, and the key lessons he wishes he had known as a student.
MUDr. Temijopelo Olabampe (Class of 2021)
Dr. Temi is a locum doctor at Whiston Hospital, where she also completed her Foundation Training. Her paediatric rotation sparked a passion that now shapes her career aspirations. After taking a break from formal training to explore different paths and gain broader clinical experience, she is preparing to return to paediatric training with renewed clarity and enthusiasm.
Her session will offer insight into the realities of UK Foundation Training, the challenges and benefits of pausing structured training, and the value of discovering one’s own professional direction.
