Upon application you must pay a consular fee 2,500 CZK. For a complete list of consular fees, including exceptions for some countries, please see the Ministry of Foreign Affairs website.

The processing time after submission is approximately 60 days. Reporting Arrival

Students who have applied for a long-term residence permit and possess a visa (type D/VR) for the purpose of collecting the residence permit are required to register through the Welcome Office for their first biometric scanning at the Ministry of Interior Offices.

Here's how to report the arrival to the Welcome Office:

  1. Send an email to welcome@upol.cz.
  2. Use "First entry in CZE" as the subject of the e-mail.
  3. Make sure to include your given and family names, date of birth, nationality, faculty, and the date of your arrival in the Czech Republic.

The Welcome Office will proceed to register the student at the MOI offices for biometric scanning, where the residency document will be issued. Once the MOI department contacts the Welcome Office with the student's appointment date, the Welcome Office will send an email to the respective student.

It is important to note that all matters and communication with students are conducted through university emails (e.g., frantisek.palacky01@upol.cz). Communication through the university email is highly recommended.
