Bridging Label, Reporting Changes

Bridging Label

A bridging label lets you travel abroad and re-enter the Czech Republic while your extension application is being processed and your current residency document is no longer valid.

When to Request

Request it when you submit your extension documents. You can also request it later if the process takes longer than expected and you need to travel. If, for some reason, your bridging label expires before the receiving of the residency document, the student can apply for a new bridging label.

What to Bring

  • Travel document
  • Proof of planned travel (e.g. flight tickets) is recommended.

Reporting Changes to the Ministry of the Interior

If you move to a new accommodation, receive a new passport, marry, or change one of your names, you must report the change to MOI within 30 working days. Reporting on time helps avoid issues with future procedures (e.g. switching from visa to residence permit or extending your permit). There is no administrative fee for reporting a change of address.

What to Submit

  • The relevant Form
  • A certified copy of the relevant document (e.g. new accommodation contract)

How to Submit

You can submit the report of changes either:

  • In person: book an appointment (online or by phone) or visit the office in person.
  • By post: (Recommended) send the documents by registered mail to tř. Kosmonautů 989/8, 779 00 Olomouc
