A Long-Term Residency Permit for the Purpose of Seeking Job

We recommend contacting Welcome Office regarding this transfer via welcome@upol.cz as there are often some specifics that need to be addressed on an individual basis.

Where to Extend

You have to submit the documents  personally  at the Ministry of Interior offices at the address Třída Kosmonautů 989/8, 779 00 Olomouc. You can either:

1. Create an appointment through the Ministry of Interior portal for a specific date and not have to wait in the queue (downside is that the appointments are often booked for a long time ahead), or
2. Go without an appointment, we recommend on either Tuesday or Thruday in the early morning hours (downside is that there is often a queue and you will have to wait your turn)

When to Extend 

The student must submit the documents before the expiry date of their current residency permit. You must apply before the expiry of your current residence permit and no later than 30 days after successful completion of your studies. During the time when your application is being processed, you are staying in the Czech Republic legally, even if your current residence permit or visa expires. 

What to Submit 

• Application form
• Travel document
• Proof of accommodation
• Proof of funds for the residence (finances)
• Photograph
• Comprehensive medical insurance (information on children under the age of 18 can be found here)
• Document certifying completion of university studies (holder of a long-term residence permit for the purpose of studies) or document certifying completion of research activity issued by the corresponding research institution (holder of a long-term residence permit for the purpose of scientific research).

Upon request provide also:

• Medical Report
• Document similar to an Extract from the Penal Register Record, issued by other states where you have resided for a total of six months during the three years preceding your application.
• Document similar to an extract from the Penal Register record, issued by the state of which you are a citizen.
• A proof of payment for the insurance stated on the proof of comprehensive medical insurance.

When submitting the documents, you wil be asked to pay an administrative fee of CZK 2,500 (payable only by card).
