When teaching any subject, how to develop other skills in students at the same time, such as information literacy, creativity or teamwork? The LOUIS educational tool, developed within the Aurora network, has been helping teachers with this for several years. Learn how to use it at the next course, which this time will be held in June 2026 in Amsterdam. You can apply until April 2.

The LOUIS (Learning Outcomes in University for Impact on Society) competence framework represents an innovative approach to higher education that emphasizes the development of competences needed to solve everyday societal challenges. LOUIS helps teachers clearly define what competencies students should acquire during their studies, in a way that goes beyond traditional academic knowledge.

The five-day workshop in the form of BIP (Blended Intensive Programme) will take place at the Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam on 1-5 June 2026 and will be supplemented by two online meetings. At the workshop, you will learn to clearly formulate what results you want to achieve with the students during the semester, design meaningful tasks with clear assignments and create evaluation criteria. The entire program is designed to provide teachers with practical tools for improving the quality of teaching and student assessment with an emphasis on the development of competencies relevant to today's society.

Do not hesitate to take advantage of this unique opportunity for professional development and join the international community of educators who pursue innovative approaches in higher education. One of the guarantors and lecturers of the course is Maxim Tomoszek from the UP Faculty of Law: "I teach constitutional law and I need students to be able to effectively solve problems in the field of constitutional law. However, I myself am not an expert in the competence of 'problem solving', which is why I have been using LOUIS for several years, which helps me and the students develop these skills together with critical thinking or communication, but also with a more precise focus of feedback."
