From Friday July 9th, it is necessary to submit a negative Covid test to your employer when returning from abroad

thursday 8. july 2021, 11:00

For UP students For UP employees

According to the currently valid protective measures from the Ministry of Health (in Czech), UP may not allow entrance to an employee who has not submitted a negative Covid test to their employer upon arrival from abroad or proved that they are exempted from the obligation to undergo a Covid test under this protective measure (for example, they are fully vaccinated or have recently recovered from Covid-19, see the measure for details). An employee who is obliged to undergo a Covid test and who is entitled to submit to it in the Czech Republic on arrival from countries with low or medium risk of Covid-19, and will use this option, may be admitted to the workplace, but until the test result is available they are obliged to use a respiratory protection device (a respirator).

An employee who is obliged to present proof of a negative Covid test after returning from business trips or holidays abroad must submit it to their immediate superior, or prove their exemption from the obligation to undergo a test (as stated above, either vaccination or recovery, see the measure for details).

The obligation to submit negative Covid tests when returning from abroad also applies to educational institutions in relation to students.

A student who is obliged to submit proof of a negative Covid test after returning from abroad will do so in the case of, for example, examinations at their own department or at the study department of their own faculty, and especially in the case of academic celebrations, among other events. The student may prove that they are exempted from the obligation to undergo a test (as above, vaccination or recovery).

Persons subject to the obligation to submit a negative Covid test to their employer when returning from abroad are ordered by the Ministry of Health to inform their employer, including educational institutions, about journeys exceeding 12 hours, or 24 hours in the case of neighboring countries, to countries with a low, medium, high, very high, or extreme risk of Covid-19.
