Dear students,

UP has more than 60 buildings across the entire university town, and so this summer is also marked by construction, reconstructions, and various improvements. While walking around Olomouc, you can see, for example, how the reconstruction of Building B of the J. L. Fischer dormitory is progressing; there is also activity at Building A of the Faculty of Law and in the main building of the Faculty of Education on Žižkovo Square. (Re)present UP! We are looking for new ambassadors

Would you like to represent UP at roadshows at secondary schools, approach prospective students at Gaudeamus fairs, or help with interesting university events? The Marketing and University Events Department is currently looking for new student ambassadors. It runs until the end of September.

Observation of a partial solar eclipse and the Perseids

In two weeks, we will experience a significant solar eclipse, which will be observable as a partial eclipse from Olomouc as well. Come and watch it together on the roof terrace of the Faculty of Science, where telescopes and talks about the Sun and the universe in general will be prepared for you. The event is scheduled to start at 18:00, and the eclipse will be observable approximately between 19:19 and 20:15. After dark, we will continue with observations of the Perseid meteor shower, which will peak that very night. More detailed information will appear in the coming days on the UP and Faculty of Science websites and social media.
