Course registration for the winter semester is approaching

Summer has barely begun, and it is already time to start planning autumn and winter… At some faculties, course registration is already opening around this time. Open the current academic year schedule (PDF) (in Czech). On page 5 and onwards, you will find the dates and times when registration begins according to your faculty, year of study, type of study, and other criteria.

Asian flavors are coming to the canteen

On Thursday, July 16, you can enjoy a special Asian menu in the canteen. Options will include Thai coconut soup Tom Kha Gai, Chinese pork with Dan Dan–inspired noodles, vegan Thai green curry, or beef bulgogi with rice and kimchi coleslaw. This themed menu is being prepared as a response to feedback from recent focus groups (in Czech), where there was demand for a greater representation of international cuisines, especially Asian.

(Re)present UP! We are looking for new ambassadors

Would you like to represent Palacký University at high school roadshows, engage prospective students at Gaudeamus fairs, or take part in interesting university events? The UP Department of Marketing and University Events is currently looking for new student ambassadors.
If you are at least in your second year at UP, enjoy communicating with people, and want to help promote your alma mater, get in touch. Become an ambassador for a day

Are you interested in diplomacy, foreign policy, or security? Take part in the Ambassador for a Day 2026 competition, organized by the embassies of the USA, the United Kingdom, and Canada in the Czech Republic. Submit an essay in English (max. 1,800 characters) on a given topic by July 31, 2026; the competition is open to students aged 18–26 living in the Czech Republic with knowledge of both Czech and English. Winners will spend September 23, 2026 alongside diplomats at one of the embassies. More details are available online.

We are looking for drivers aged 50+ for research on reactions and neurological conditions

Experts from the Department of Psychology at the Faculty of Arts, UP, and the Olomouc University Hospital are seeking active drivers aged 50–85. They aim to find ways to detect neurological conditions early and help drivers remain safe on the road for as long as possible. Do you know someone who fits this description? Let them know.
