We're developing the canteen! Be part of it

Do you have something to say about the UP canteen? Now is the right time! Join the focus group and influence how university catering can look in the future. The UP Accomodation and Dining is looking for students and employees who want to share their experiences, expectations, and ideas in an open debate that can lead to concrete changes. SCIENCE AND RESEARCH

Science explained clearly and convincingly

Do you want to learn to speak about science clearly and attractively? Sign up for the lifelong learning program Communication and Science Popularization (in Czech) and gain not only a microcertificate, but above all practical skills that you can use when presenting your own research and appearing in public. Workshops await you focused on writing, working with media, creating visual content, and communication on social networks – all led by experts from practice. The program runs in the form of weekend classes (in Czech) and after completing it, you will have concrete outputs that you can use right away.

Fulbright Program Scholarships to the USA

Applications for Fulbright Scholarships (in Czech) to the USA for the academic year 2027/2028 are open! The offer includes scholarships for study stays (at Master or Ph.D. level) and research stays, for students, scientists, lecturers, and professional experts; other forms are for doctors and medical fields or for hosting scientists and lecturers from the USA here in the Czech Republic. They include funding for the stay, travel costs, and insurance. Applications are open from April 1, 2026, with deadlines varying by type of stay. Neuron: get support for field research or nominate science leaders

Do you have an ambitious research project that takes you out of the lab? Apply to the Expedice Neuron program and get up to 1 million crowns for field research anywhere in the world. The call is open across disciplines and emphasizes the courage to discover and the real impact of research. Don't hesitate – applications can be submitted until April 17, 2026.

Do you know an exceptional female or male scientist in your circle who deserves recognition? Nominate them for the prestigious Neuron Awards 2026, which honor excellent scientific personalities and young talents with international reach. Individuals and institutions can participate to help highlight top Czech science. Nominations are open until April 25, 2026.

Present your research at the Science Fair

The Veletrh vědy (Science Fair) is the biggest science celebration in our country and you can be part of it! Do you want to present what you're researching to tens of thousands of curious visitors and inspire the young generation for science? Do you have an attractively prepared stand, for example from the Researcher’s Night or open doors day, and want to show it off in Prague too? Do you want to attract future students to your field? UP presents itself every year in Prague's Letňany and is now looking for enthusiastic students and other scientists who want to join the university presentation this year too (June 4–6). Female scientists wanted! Enter yourself or a colleague in the prestigious competition

The prestigious L’Oréal-UNESCO For Women in Science competition celebrates its 20th anniversary this year in the Czech Republic. Over this time, it has supported dozens of talented female scientists and helped them develop their careers and popularize their results. The program is open to female scientists in the fields of life sciences and environment, physical sciences, formal sciences (mathematics, informatics), and technical sciences. The condition is age under 40, completed doctoral studies, and at least one year of work in Czech science. The three laureates can use the 200,000 CZK reward for any form of support for their scientific career. More information about the program.

Education Night: community, practice, and wellbeing

Are you studying teaching? Come draw inspiration at the Education Night (in Czech), which takes place in Prague, Brno, but mainly also in Olomouc! An evening full of sharing, new experiences, and a pleasant atmosphere awaits you. It will focus on three key topics – community, where a sense of safety and mutual support is important, contact with practice to better prepare you for school reality, and wellbeing, i.e., care for yourself and your classmates. How to travel cheaply, smartly, and without unnecessary troubles?

Come to the talk with influencer and traveler Zuzana Zvěřová (in Czech) (ig: @zuzanazver), which will be about where to find flights and accommodation, what to think about before departure, and how to handle various situations on trips. The talk will also focus on sustainable tourism and explain what measures and restrictions countries are introducing to make tourism gentler on visited places. Celebrate Earth Day with UP

We may not know exactly when Earth has its birthday, but that's okay – Earth Day (in Czech) is simply every year on April 22. And since our university is on Earth too, we'll celebrate this day with a walk, grilling at the community garden, a lecture on climate grief, or an expanded offer of meatless and plant-based dishes in the canteen. In addition, you can bring unnecessary things for the university bazaar, which will then take place during the majáles. More on the website. (in Czech)

Test your strength on the rope

The twenty-second UP Rope Climbing Championship will take place on Tuesday, April 14, to which the Department of Sports FTK UP invites everyone who is not afraid of heights to the Hynaisova gym. As traditional, climbing on a 4.5-meter rope and in the open category also on an 8-meter rope, medals, diplomas, and material prizes await the best climbers, and competitors from the first years of FTK UP will also compete for the dean's financial reward. Tickets for Olomouc Majáles now on pre-sale

Dozens of bands, theater, slam, competitions and workshops, AZ quiz, or hand-made zone – all this lures at this year's Olomouc Majáles of Palacký University (in Czech). It will take place on May 6 and 7 for the first time historically in the Letňák open cinema area. Like last year, entry to the first day's program is free, the main day (Thursday) will offer the event's headliners and crowning of the king/queen for 150 CZK (for UP female and male students) / 250 CZK (for others) on site. From Monday, April 13, tickets will be available for pre-sale at UPoint, first 1000 pcs with a 50 CZK discount.

UP Sports Day: registration for the Dragon Boat Race and the Faculty of Arts Soccer Tournament

Registration for the first-ever university dragon boat race opens this Friday, April 10. Put together an 11-member team made up of UP students or staff, and come enjoy a unique experience on the water. Experience doesn’t matter – what counts is teamwork, rhythm, and the desire to try something new. Teams will receive race T-shirts, and the top three will take home a trophy. Football fans among students and staff at the UP Faculty of Arts can sign up to participate in the 15th annual Dean’s Cup tournament. The tournament will take place from 8:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. on the fields at the FK Slavonín complex. You can register your entire team (by May 6) or sign up individually (by May 7). NEW STANDARDS

  • Accommodation scholarships at UP for the period January–August 2026
    This amendment to the UP internal regulation, effective from April 2, 2026, (in Czech) is intended primarily for UP students and other UP employees. It sets the amount of the accommodation scholarship for the period January–June 2026 for students of bachelor's and master's study programs and for the period January–August 2026 for students of doctoral study programs.

    All UP standards, including the ineffective ones, divided by UP units, with the possibility of filtering and searching in them can be found by students and employees of UP after logging in to files.upol.cz.
