Every citizen of the Czech Republic has the right to change their health insurance company once every 6 months. If you have changed your health insurance company as of July 1, 2025, please inform your faculty/department's HR department as soon as possible.

Visit UP at the Summer Wine Festival in the Park

Visit the University Zone in the beautiful surroundings of Bezručovy sady park on Saturday 19 July. As part of the two-day Summer Wine Festival (in Czech), you can visit the UP presentation stand. Workshops for young and old, university wine and merch, unusual seating and lots of learning will be waiting for you. With the UP Crowd you will try out fun chemistry experiments, students of the FTK will guide you through the mysteries of biomechanics and in the creative workshop of the UP Press you will make your own notebook. In the chill out zone under the trees you will relax and the students of the FZV will show you occupational therapy in practice.

Donate books for the foreign fund of the children's library in Ukraine

In Chernivtsi, near the Romanian border in south-western Ukraine, nearly 100,000 inhabitants of the devastated areas of Ukraine have found refuge in recent years. Help the Books for Ukraine project and the UP Volunteering Centre to rebuild the foreign library collection there. You can bring books for children from 0 to 18 years old published in the last ten years. They must be originals (not translations) in European languages (English, Czech, Slovak, German, French, Spanish, Polish and others). Where to? To the Rector's Office (Křížkovského 8), Mon-Fri 6am-6pm or to other locations in Brno, Pilsen, Prague and Ostrava. More on FB and IG.

The best of the Fort Science awaits you on a summer adventure mission

If you visit the Fort Science – Centre of Popularization of the Faculty of Science – in the summer months, a spectacular scientific celebration of ten years since its opening will be waiting for you there. Animal superheroes, the Guardians of Knowledge, will guide you through an adventure and exploration game (in Czech) with a selection of the best activities of the past decade. Young and old alike will have the chance to win entries to the Fortress for the whole of next year as they complete the challenges. Students have reduced admission, and UP employees and alumni get a 20% discount.

NEW STANDARDS

• UP Statute – Amendment No. 13
  This amendment to the UP internal regulations was registered by the Ministry of Education and Science of the Czech Republic on 7 July. (in Czech) It concerns all employees and students of UP, the subject is the regulation of delivery of documents related to the admission procedure.

   

• UP Internal Wage Regulation – Amendment No. 5
  This amendment to the UP Internal Regulations was registered by the Ministry of Education and Science of the Czech Republic on 7 July.  (in Czech) It applies to all UP employees, the subject of which is the amendment of Annex No. 1 – wage scales and limits of personal remuneration.

   

• Rector's leave on 16 September 2025
  This internal standard of UP, effective from 11 July 2025,  (in Czech) is addressed to employees working at the Rector's Office, the Computer Centre, the Library, the Publishing House, the Academic Sports Centre, the Science and Technology Park, the Project Service, the Administration of UP Dormitories and Canteens, the UP Centre for Support of Students with Specific Needs. The Rector hereby grants Rector's leave to actively participate in volunteer activities within the framework of the Employee Volunteer Day.

   

• UP AS Rules of Procedure – Amendment No. 1
  This amendment to the UP Internal Regulations was registered by the Ministry of Education on 11 July.  (in Czech) It is addressed to all UP employees, the subject is the amendment of Article 22, paragraph 1 - Approval of the UP Strategic Plan, UP Annual Reports and the UP Internal Quality Assessment Report.
  
  All UP standards, including the ineffective ones, divided by UP units, with the possibility of filtering and searching in them can be found by students and employees of UP after logging in to files.upol.cz.
