The Times Higher Education World University Ranking
The list, published since 2010 by the UK journal The Times Higher Education (THE), is one of the three most renowned global rankings of universities and higher education institutes. It judges universities in several areas, such as the quality of teaching, science and research, citations, international outlook, and co-operation with the corporate sector (industry income/knowledge transfer). The core factors in the overall evaluation are related to scientific performance, including teaching, research, and citations. One of the indicators was the Reputation Survey, conducted among global academics, who rate a university’s reputation for research excellence and teaching quality.
In THE World Universities Rankings 2023, Palacký University occupied the 1001st to 1200th position and thus ranks fourth among twenty Czech universities.
Palacký University still holds a good position among domestic universities in the field of research, where despite a decline in the score it continues to achieve the third best result after Charles University and Masaryk University in Brno. The fourth position in the country belongs to it in citations.
In terms of ranking in selected areas, the University of Olomouc is the highest ranked in the category of international environment, at 494th position. Compared to the previous ranking, it has improved its score in the indicators Teaching reputation, Research reputation, Publications per staff and in most of the indicators related to the aforementioned international environment.
