Palacký University Olomouc is expanding the ways in which concerns within the academic environment can be raised. The introduction of this digital platform forms part of our ongoing effort to create a safe, open, and fair environment for both students and staff.
The FaceUp platform allows you to submit a report in situations where you encounter inappropriate or unethical behaviour, or when you are unsure how best to address a particular situation.
A Safe and Accessible Way to Speak Up
Experience from other universities shows that similar tools help to identify and address issues at an early stage—before they escalate or negatively affect individuals, study groups, or the wider workplace. Having access to a safe reporting channel also encourages people to speak up, even in sensitive situations.
FaceUp allows you to submit a report either anonymously or under your name. Unlike traditional forms of communication, it also enables follow-up communication—even in anonymous cases—which helps to clarify the situation and identify appropriate solutions. The system is user-friendly and familiar to many students from their previous education.
How to submit a report
At the outset, you will be asked to provide basic information—such as the faculty or unit concerned and whether you are a student or a member of staff. In some cases, you may also choose who will receive your report, for example a specific person or a designated ombuds team.
An important part of the submission is a description of the situation you have experienced or witnessed. At the final stage, you can decide whether to submit your report anonymously or under your name. In both cases, all information is treated confidentially, and any further steps will be discussed with you.
What happens next
Each report is assessed individually, with careful consideration of its context. Submitting a report does not automatically initiate a formal investigation; rather, it serves as a basis for assessing the situation and determining the appropriate next steps. The system also helps ensure that reports are handled in a clear and transparent manner, including adherence to established timeframes.
If you choose to submit your report anonymously, please make sure to save your report key (a unique 12-digit code generated by the application), which allows for further communication.
