Current semester | state degree exams | exams during the coronavirus epidemic

When will the semester end? When will state degree exams take place? When to submit final theses? When…?

The 2020 Summer Semester will be extended. In general, classes will be extended by two weeks as opposed to the original 2020 Summer Semester timetable, and the deadline for fulfilling study requirements for the academic year 2019/2020 will be extended until 15 September 2020 (this does not apply to graduating students, who will be informed of their specific deadlines by their departments/faculties). Due to the nature of their study programmes, certain faculties will be granted exceptions to prolong classes, so please monitor the information at your home faculty. Links to that information are given below.

In conjunction with Czech government relaxation of emergency measures, as of Monday, 27 April, all students are allowed to enter the university after mandatory prior agreement with their teacher(s), and upon their instructions, for the purpose of individual consultations, lab work, exams, final exams, state exams, and thesis defences. Students can also enter the UP Armoury Library, but only for borrowing books. Individual faculties and departments are responsible for the decisions on making their spaces accessible. Each of these activities are limited to the presence of max. 5 persons at a time, keeping to regulations in place. All group lessons until further notice will only take place via distance learning and on-line. Details

University and faculty authorities have also agreed that the rest of the summer semester 2020 (including exams etc.) can be finished in online form. Study programmes which can’t be completed online due to its specifics will be realized and finished in presence form as soon as the actual situation will allow it.

Graduation ceremonies at UP are not threatened. UP management, in conjunction with the deans of all faculties, has decided that this year’s graduation ceremonies will take place starting in September and the months following. However, due to actual course of events and specifics of each faculty we kindly ask you to follow closely the latest news and information from your faculty.

Please keep monitoring our ongoing, constantly updated FAQ, where you will find many other detailed questions and answers about the course of the semester and study requirements for the 2020 Summer Semester.
