The research program “Chemical biology and Experimental Therapeutics” at the Institute of Molecular and Translational Medicine (IMTM), Faculty of Medicine and Dentistry, Palacky University in Olomouc, Czech Republic (www.imtm.cz), seeks for postdoctoral fellow with background in cellular biology and chemical biology with previous experience in research and development of experimental therapeutics, preferentially in area of cancer, infection and neurodegenerative diseases.

The position will be opened for four years with a possibility to extend as a permanent position - faculty member. The research will be focused on the screening of biological activities of small molecules using state of the art ultra high throughput screening and high content analysis platforms. We require ability to perform independent research, write papers, supervise students, and work in multinational environment.

IMTM is a not-for-profit organisation and it serves as a national node for EATRIS (European Advanced Translational Medicine Infrastructure). The research at the Institute integrates molecular studies with clinical practices and education in a new multi-campus environment. IMTM offers an attractive benefits package. Salary will be determined by the successful candidate's experience.

Formal requirements:

  • PhD or equivalent (M.D.) in cell biology or related fields,
  • good publication record;
  • ability to communicate and write in English;
  • experience with tissue cultures, fluorescent microscopy, biochemical tests, testing of biological activities of small molecules and experience with analytical software like Tibco Spotfire, Cell Profiler, Columbus;
