Below is a summary of the current measures in place at UP in conjunction with Covid-19.
Though the holidays are in full swing, and we are all doing our best to relax and recharge our batteries for the coming academic year, it looks likely that the next coronavirus wave will not wait until September to hit. The numbers of those infected at present are slowly but surely on the rise. At this moment, the nature of how the disease will spread in the near future cannot be reliably predicted; nevertheless, maintaining a certain degree of caution is doubtless the order of the day. Government measures are not going into effect at present, so responsibility rests upon the shoulders of each and every one of us; let us try a little consideration as regards to how we can continue to live our university (and normal) lives without further complications. For more details see the news.
Testing of employees
Testing of university employees is not currently mandated by anyone. The UP Rector’s Office allows its employees to pick up their own test in case of any uncertainty at the OSH Inspection, Management and Fire Safety Division (BOZP; Referát bezpečnosti a požární ochrany), located at 8 Křížkovského street. During the summer holidays, please ask your immediate supervisor at other UP divisions about the availability of self-tests remaining from the last round of testing (or other possibilities).
Respiratory protection
Currently, no governmental measure mandates the use of respiratory protection (respirators/masks). In view of the current increase in infections, we should not hesitate to wear masks if we are not feeling completely well, in order to protect those around us – and also if we wish to protect our own health. Masks for these preventive purposes can be picked up individually from the OSH Inspection, Management and Fire Safety Division (BOZP; Referát bezpečnosti a požární ochrany), located at 8 Křížkovského street.
