Medical Care

In case you have any symptoms or in case you find out that a person you were in contact with was positively tested for COVID-19, inform the accommodation office (telephone/email). Depending on your symptoms, call the doctor (Army Hospital, in morning hours) or emergency line 112 or 1221, inform the IRO coordinator.
In case you are placed in quarantine inform your teachers vie email about the reason for your absence in classes and to agree on online academic work to maintain your study plan.

RT_PCR  Testing

Please note that after the arrival and any time later when you decide about going for the RT_PCR test, you pay for it. BUT, in case you get ill or in case you have been in contact with a person tested positive, the GP decides about the testing. If you are indicated for the RT_PCR test by the medical doctor your health insurance covers the cost of the test.

Health Insurance

Incoming students are requested to provide proof of health insurance valid for the time of the whole stay. The students of the EU countries (non-visa students) are required to upload the valid EHIC in the online application before the arrival, students who have provided expired copies must show the valid EHIC or equivalent confirmation after the arrival during the orientation week at the latest. Incoming exchange students are provided with the assistance to register EHIC after the arrival during the orientation week organized by the International Relations Office.

Palacký University Dormitories

As it is really difficult to predict the further development of the situation we just want to inform the exchange students staying in the Czech Republic that they do not need to be afraid about their basic needs such buying food, medication as dormitories and dining halls will remain open regardless the development of the situation. If any student decides to leave the Czech Republic for their home country during the semester he/she must inform the IRO. Also, any change of the place of stay (address) in Olomouc must be reported to the IRO. Accommodation issues are to be solved directly with the accommodation office.

Information for students who are obliged to take the RT_PCR test after the arrival:

Please note that after the arrival you will be limited in social contacts, you should stay mostly in your room and always wear a facemask when leaving the room, wash and disinfect your hands more often.   After the arrival in Olomouc, you should report in dormitory reception (information and address were sent by email from Ilona.utekalova@upol.cz). In case you receive the negative test result by the time of your arrival in Olomouc, you will be accommodated in your room. If not, you will stay a day or two in a guest room, which will be charged extra. You need to comply with the rules and measures set by the Accommodation Office/Dormitory/state authorities.

The most important is a personal responsibility. We recommend to each of you to keep all the basic prevention rules before, during traveling, and after the arrival in the Czech Republic.

Mobility paperwork

Please note that all can be arranged online.

Confirmation of stay (Arrival/Departure Forms) –  documents about your time at Palacký University can be confirmed at the beginning/end of the study stay or any time when you decide to finish the mobility, the documents will state the real arrival and departure dates. Transcript of Records (ToR) – official confirmation of study results and courses attended at Palacký University,  issued at the very end of the mobility based on meeting the academic requirements, passing exams and results signed in STAG by respective teachers, ToR is issued by the respective faculty coordinator, not by IRO.

Practicalities for students staying in Olomouc

From 10/09/2020 is mandatory to wear a facemask or other forms of facial protection in all public spaces such as shops, offices, or public vehicles throughout the Olomouc region. Failure to comply may be subjected to a fine. Try to keep social distancing when possible. Avoid gathering of students/people in groups. Students are asked to communicate their questions and requests with the International Relations(IRO) Office coordinators via e-mail or by phone. Visit the Central IRO/Křížkovského 8 only based on a scheduled appointment and the IRO coordinator approval. Documents and forms that need to be signed can be exchanged via email. Stay in contact via email with your UP teachers/coordinators and follow their instructions for mutual communication.
