How to get to Neředín hall of Residence from the railway station in Olomouc?

A price of taxi : up to 200,- CZK
By tram
To get in Neředín you should take a tram no. 2 or 5 and get off on the terminus / last stop. A tram stop is situated in front of the main railway station.
A price of the ticket is 12,- CZK ( 16,- CZK if bought on the board from a driver). It´s necesarry to stamp the ticket on the board. Tickets are available at newagentś or there are also vending machines situated near the railway station´s main entrance .
Should you feel better with some assistance right upon your arrival in Olomouc, please contact our buddy service in advance at esnup.buddy(at)upol.cz or esnup.upol(at)gmail.com
You may ask a Czech student e.g. to pick you up at Olomouc railway station and accompany you to dormitory. Unfortunately, neither the university nor the buddy service can´t arrange such a service from the Prague airport.
Buddy System is organized by ESN UP( Erasmus Student Network at Palacký University). It is designed to give to incoming students a smooth start into studies at PU.
Housing for all Erasmus students is booked in students´ halls of residence on Neředín campus ( Neředín = a familiar name of a part of the city where the halls of residence are situated)
Address:
VSK Neředín (Neředín Hall of Residence)
U Letiště 12
771 11 Olomouc
On the Neředín campus, enter a partly glass round shaped building with the reception desk, the building itself is immediately visible from the tram stop since it´s situated in the middle of the campus. Planning your arrival date please note that a service at the reception is nearly non-stop, though between midnight and 6 a.m. you will have to ring the bell to get in. At the reception, introduce yourself as an Erasmus student, identify yourself with ID or with a passport. You will get a key, sign a housing contract and pay a refundable deposit of 2 500,- CZK ( 100 Euro).
Should you make comments on housing, be so kind and inform the International Liaison Office / Mrs. Hamdanieh or in case you deal with some emergency problems, get immediately in touch with a lady at the reception or inform the housing office in Neředín. In any case don´t do any repairs by yourself, there are servicemen in dorms.

Take a tram no. 2 ( the best choice because you will not have to change the trams ), pass several stops, get off at „Náměstí Republiky“ (the eighth stop), in front of you there is a car park, go straight on, the upper line on your left hand side is Křížkovského street, go on for about 50 m and on your right hand side look for no. 8, come in and wait at the courtyard ( a small courtyard with a fountain and four trees).
Be so kind and note that for organizational purposes ( registration) it´s important to come in time, 5-10 minutes before are appreciated. Transportation from Neředín to Křížkovkého street takes about 20 min.
At the meeting, every incoming student will get a file with a printed programme of the orientation week and some other information materials. A sightseeing tour of the town, a visit of the Town Hall, meeting with a police officer, interesting lectures, Survival Czech course ( for real beginners), Tram Party, Welcome Party and a trip organized by Czech students, last but not least meetings with teachers/departmental coordinators (upon previous agreement) will be offered.
For practical reasons, students will be divided into groups, each having its timetable of activities.
Students who will arrive during the orientation week and interested in joining at least some parts of the orientation, should first report to the International Liaison Office, Křížkovského 8 to obtain information on ongoing activities.
Students who will not be able to take part in the orientation programme are asked to contact the International Liaison Office, Křížkovského 8,
Mrs. Zuzana Hamdanieh or Mrs. Ivana Petrželová to get information delivered during the orientation.

After your arrival and accomodation in Neředín you are recommended to contact as the first your study coordinator – Mrs. Jitka Melcrová or Mrs. Marie Jurečková to get a timetable of your courses and study activities. Offices of both ladies are situated in the Dean´s office building , Třída Svobody street no. 8.
A note for all but mainly for Polish students:
